Setting up Flowcode to work with your PICKit 2

If you’re a fan of Flowcode you probably enjoy the simpler things in life like I do.  If that’s true you’re really going to love how easy it is to get your PICKit 2 working with Flowcode.  Simply go to the top menu and select CHIP>Compiler Options…

Complier Options Menu

After selecting Compiler Options, you’ll see another dialog box open up that looks like this…

Flowcode Compiler Options Menu

On this screen we’re going to change some things in the Programmer section.  First, you’ll need to browse to the location of your PICKit 2 command line program.  This is the program that will allow Flowcode to work with it.  Here’s where mine is located in case you don’t know where to look.  You can probably just copy this and paste into that field if you’ve installed Flowcode normally.

C:\Program Files\Matrix Multimedia\Flowcode V4\Tools\PICkit2\pk2cmd.exe

Next, enter or copy/paste these paramaters into the next box.

-BC:\Program Files\Matrix Multimedia\Flowcode V4\Tools\PICkit2\ -PPIC%p -F%f.hex -M -A5 -R -T

Next, check the box where it says Use External Program to set Configuration Options.

Bam!  That’s it.  Selct OK and you’re done.  These settings will be remembered by Flowcode until you change them.
